as title please folks ,

as the s1 will be running 4x4 fronts in the rear and i havent got fund to buy a set , i plan on fabbing up a mock pair of them to support the car,

so i need the overall lenght on the shock ( not worried if its adjusted atm ) from the bottom to the base of the thread at the top ,

length of the thread itself and size - m8,m10.ect

diamater of the tube nearest cpl mm will do ,

width beteween plates where it mounts to hub

size of plate and bolt spacing ,


basically the dimensions you would need to replicate peeps

if anyones got one off the car ect

or if anyone is close to middlesbrough and wouldnt mind me loaning one for a day or two to have a pair made up ,

but won't they differ depending on which make and length etc you are using mate?

are you making them as mck up or to have them made to use, as if to use your better off waiting for a 2nd hand set to come up at a good price else it will cost a lot to make a coilover from sratch depening what shocks you use to start with

guys i simply want somthing that will bolt to a 4x4 front hub , a tube and i plan on welding on a peice of threaded bar ( the same diameter as coilover top) to the top of it , ill put a nut above and below the top mount as a usual coilover ,


it will offer no shock absorbtion what so ever , its meerly for me to adjust the threaded rod so the wheel clears the arch ,and so i can roll the car on 4 wheels

ok i have done a drawing of what my shock is in sizes, top numbers are diameters and bottom are lengths ive also included a picture of my shock, now the hob stop is the same size as the thread diameter, but drawing doesnt show this due to the shock tapering in, but it shoudld give you an indication of whats needed
