Default New car for the Mrs, what to get ?

selling the wifes mondeo in the car for sale section and looking to get a diesel to replace it, now a few things it cannot be too small as i drive it also and I'm 6ft 3 and we have 2 kids also

been looking at golfs but out of my price range tbh, i know this is a ford forum but i dont want a ford diesel

need some suggestions please

passat tdi, lots an lots of headroom, huge boot , smooth cars, an i've seen over 60mpg out of mine!!!( lots of styling mods when you got some money too! )

Ooops, sorry, missed that bit!

All the properly decent diesels I can think of start at around Ł2750 for decent examples.

Anything over a certain age that's a diesel is going to be from the old style of diesels, and not upto the kind of standard of the newer stuff.

tell me about mate but just had to buy a twin plate clutch for the evo and thats all i can stretch to

probs will look at passats once i sell the mondy

Not a bad idea, or a Bora. Same as a Golf, just less fashionable, so probably cheaper than the equivalent.....

Just got my Misses a Peugeot 307 HDi........SUPERB car and LOADS of room inside, feels alot bigger inside than my Mondeo tbh

Goes ok as its the 90bhp HDi......... Cheap as chips to run.....

All for 2k if you shop around
