I was looking at a used 2008focus st at a ford dealer the other weekend, where it was £369 a month, but when u looked at the finance details, u was paying like 20% apr!! meaning the car worked out about 20k in the end, the same amount as what a new one costs.

Problem is, and others may have noticed this, banks arent giving loans really like they were say 4years ago. I got my loan for my rs turbo with egg about 5years ago, the apr was like 6.9% and i could pay off more whenever i wanted after my monthly payment. But when i wanted another loan lately as had payed my last one off over a yr ago now, but egg dont even offer loans at moment and i also got refused by my bank!! and i have no bad credit history, or no reason to have anyway.

screw that, never be in that debt for a car, no dam way!

Id be looking to have 5-10k then wait a year and pick one up for 20k, owing 10k at most on loan. at very most!!

The novelty wears off with EVERY car! it does with me especially quick

Never buy new, complete waste of money!! Newest car i've ever bought was six months old and 3k cheaper than list to boot.
Let someone else waste thier money first, then bag a bargain

Or live the dream and drive something you always wanted when younger but couldnt afford.

what sort of mileage do you cover
i have had two new focus st's and at times they depreciate at 500-00 a month
add your finance at 650-00 a month a pair of front tyres every 6k and 250-00 for fuel pm and it sounds great
i could use a tank of fuel on a Saturday and a bit of running abou in the week
trust me it soon adds up thats why i am running a 2.0 tdci focus titanium for a bit
