Default Fiesta/Focus ST170

I've been offered a cheap(ish) ST170 that is cat C and wondered if I could fit the engine into my Mk 3 XR2i track car. Does anyone know if this is possible in any way? Or am I opening a can of worms and in for a task beyond reason....

Thanks

it does fit my mate has one if you have a zetec engined car it will basically fit in as although the engine is badged as a duratec it is actually essentially a 2.0 zetec with adifferent head the only problem you might have though is the vvti which could give you a headache or so im told but not 100% sure how much hassle it could be

IF you transfer the ECU and loom and clocks over into your Fiesta then you can run everything including VVT. Alternatively you can disable the VVT and run fixed cam timing with a different ECU.

Should bolt upto a IB5 with the right Fly-wheel ... And you can disable the Varable Valve timming by blanking an Oil-way with a Grub scew apparently ...

OR! You can work it with a shift light or summit .. Bloke I know has an ST170 in his Kit car ..

i was looking to do this, and im sure the engine mount needs modifying, and you need an added pulley so the water pump goes the right way...there is a thread on here somewere on someone doing it, i know this because i saw it lastnight...
also im not 100% that the inlet manifold will fit because of the space between the bulkhead and engine, not 100% but just make sure because you dont wanna put it in then relise you gotta spend another grand on throttle bodies
hope it helps

Search for jimmyesh on www.fiestaturbo.com dude, he's done this (st170 engine, box, loom etc into mk3 fiesta). will be pretty much a walk through guide, problems discovered and how he's got round it!

He's sold it now but the the thread will still remain. It looked an awsome conversion!!
