Hi,

I am trying to fit a kenwood stereo into my escort cosworth but the connector that goes into the standard stereo is different to the one that goes into the iso connector on the kenwood lead. Is there a convertor you can get?

Stu at BSC sells em, i bought one last week for the RS1800.

I expect halfords will also sell em

Afraid not Dan, i buy mine in from out of town.

Try calling that car spares gaff on Bloomfield road as he used to sell that and castrol RS 10/60 too.

Just got back with the connector and the connector they gave me for ford has 2 ends, a brown and a black, the original ford plug goes into the black connector and powers the stereo but there is also the brown connector that i think is for the speakers but there is nothing to go into that one so no sound Has anyone got any ideas?

Ok I have just noticed the part on the packet where it says not for the fd2007 stereo which mine is Does anyone know the model number of the connector for an escort cosworth and does it just have the one connector that the standard ford plug goes into and not 2 plugs like the one i have just bought?

is the Escort like later Sapph, with a remote amplifier? sapph one is in the passenger footwell kick panel, and the speakers terminate there rather than at the head unit, If this is the case, yuo will have to extend the speaker connections from there to the brown connector..

 

RichM, yes it has (Tape & CD combo has amp in same place as Sapph') - there is an adapter that includes a link to the amp/speakers, think it is an Autoleads/Halfords item
