Sounds totally justified to me. If you hadn't been going so fast you probably could have avoided the lorry. Would you still think it was harsh if after hitting the lorry and obviously losing control you had ploughed into a group of pedestrians or killed another innocent road user.
Don't you people that are posting speed of 130mph + realise that you are covering a mile in less than 30 seconds. Other drivers are quite likely to misjudge how quickly you are approaching and hence pull out into your path without realising that you are going to be on top of them in a matter of seconds .

PassionFord Post Whore!!
No mate not a do gooder, and i speed on most of the journeys that i make but just not to the silly extremes that some of you are posting/boasting. Can you tell me where anything that i have stated in this thread is wrong and then you might have a reason for replying.

true KregRS but the odd speeding ticket and if your really unlucky a ban, pales into insignificance when you add up multiple no insurance bans/ 6 pointers, not to mention running from the police can get you a shit load of time banned from the road if they really dont like you!!

Don't get so hung up on the figures, it is just a number.... I would quite happily sit on 150mph+ where the conditions allow, and you have a suitable car. Much much more dangerous driving like pillock buzzing people carriers or in bad weather etc....
When I had my 370Bhp RWD saff, there was hardly a day that went past when I didn't see 150+ on the speedo... But it was early hours of the morning, 1-3am on deserted roads with no juncions and good viz.
The golden rules of speeding are: 1) Don't piss other people off. 2) If you are worried, you are already going too fast for your ability. 3) If you can't identify a car as not being the old bill, don't speed!!!
Saying that, I did get done when I was 19 in my first cossie for speeding, I overtook an unmarked mondy doing 110mph, then did a lap ( beautifully) of a roundabout sideways .... 11 points and a £750 fine in one sitting
The key to sppeding now is stealth mode!!
