My dads got the M6 i know its not the M5 but they are fairly similar engine and electrics.

Have had problems with the engine manage light going on for no apparent reason, also the key fob runs down fast and is circa £200 for a new battery.

Gearbox is a little slow in auto mode so have to adjust the quickness of changes and how long it holds the revs for. In manual mode though spot on!

Other than that it seems to run really well and has taken some abuse.

Its an 06 with 15,000 on the clock.

Eats rear tyres though!

hth mate

Chris

My best mate works for BMW in bracknell and they have seen 3 now with 150k+ still going strong so a well looked after example should keep on going like the older versions.

All the best

Dont think they do as when low it flashes a message up on the dash, so if it was to charge its self it wouldnt do this I would of thought.

my bad paul
just got this off google

Their is a small slot above the male peg that sticks out (after removing the key). Insert a flat blade screwdriver and twist slightly. The cover will pop off. Inside there is a 2032 battery. This is not a rechargeable battery (for the comfort access key) that costs about $3 ($13 from BMW) from your local drug store. Replace this battery with the + side facing up.

What is the need in stupid comments like that on a fresh topic about a car discussed in one of your previous threads?! ....anyway speaking personally, everyone knows that slashing tyres and stealing badges is how I roll....

Yeh sound good mate, after 5k it all goes mad. Im trying to persuade the old man to get a titanium system on it but at circa 5k they seem steep.

oh God no please dont let me look on ebay for mods, i already noted evochips do a remap for an extra 30 bhp I didnt think this was possible though as its got that M button so have you heard of them being remapped and would it be better than the original map in all honesty?

Yeh have been in a remapped one,

Sharpend the throttle response up more so than normal, and gives it a bit more mid range go. But tbh you would really be pushing it to notice the extra ponnies. But he reckons he is getting another 5mpg which is nice when average is 18mpg and 250miles to a tank .

They also respond well to a good pannel filter too.

Just dont look on here http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/home.php

My interpretation of hate is obviously different to yours... I explained before that I didn't like the same old stuff popping up over and over again, so no hate, just frustration pal.

The other reason I felt the need to comment in this thread was because you are trying to come across as the wounded victim... but you invite attention and reaction by putting ridiculous little comments in like the one about hardmen targetting you for a gangland drive-by shooting, end of the day, from what I gather you have a 2Pac numberplate... but thats where the similarity ends surely.

Cheers,
Grant
