insurance help
had a accident back in sept 08 my fault that was the start to a new policy had car 5 weeks before the accident, when my renewal was due i asked about my claim and they told me was all settled and they paid out £16,600.
now today ive got a letter from a solictors saying that my insurance failed to settled there claim and now they want to issues proceedings against me in accordance with the road traffic act s152 (i) (a)
ive tried ringing my old insurance but they are shut and the solictors are closed..
anyone have a idea what that would be all about?? when i was told they had paid out?

152 Exceptions to section 151
(1) No sum is payable by an insurer under section 151 of this Act—
(a) in respect of any judgment unless, before or within seven days after the commencement of the proceedings in which the judgment was given, the insurer had notice of the bringing of the proceedings,
