Default help required fitting AP six pots

Whats the gap supposed to be between the mounting bell and the actual pads when first fitted, as trying to fit at the moment and they are JUST touching on the outside edges of the pads,is this normal? or have I somehow fitted them incorrectly?

cheers
Mat

The bell and pads shouldn't touch, as this will cause uneven wear and tear on the the braking.
here's mine

does anybody have any suggestions as to why only the edges are JUST touching, the middle of the pads isnt, its like the shape of the pad and bell are slightly different, imagine putting a small circle inside a big one with the edges meeting at the top (if that helps )
please any more suggestions

Mat, if they are only just touching as in a fraction of a millimetre, i wouldn't worry about it as they will bed in to the shape of the disc................I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong

they seem to be exactly the same, I've tried swapping them over and changing over calaipers but still the same,I am thinking possibly when the wheel goes back on and everything is done up properly tight that it may pull them back, its such a small bit touching
it is doing my head in

Its entirely possible they could need shimming slightly as the hubs could be slightly out of tolerence from manufacture, this would never show up on std brakes if you say its only just touching the bell.
