Just walked out of my job....
Fucking had enough this morning, and walked out. Game over, end of, no fucking around!
I've never been happy there since I started end of Sept 09, and this morning they were just fucking me around and taking the piss, and this rude cunt kept binning the phone on me (this is someone from my company, not a customer!) and I just lost it, told them to stick it, emptied my van and walked out. I even left a hand written note to make it official...
I've never done that before In ten years, I've had some shit jobs, but I've never walked out on one before, and now I'm feeling a tad foolish, hasty and worried! But I know it was for the best, just a bit apprehensive!
So far I've had 4 beers, played guitar FUCKING loudly, and now I might have a sleep

You'll have no problems finding another job mate.
Can you do repairs as well as replacement?
We use a bloke for chip repairs who comes round on his bike [motor, not pedal] with a rucksack. Charges us Ł30+VAT and never seems short of work [he does insurance work too].
Time to go it on your own and not have to put up with the petty squabbling in the workplace?
Just substitute that for chasing customers for money instead

True!
But chip repair requires some resin, a dremel and some of those plungey sucky mirror things. Ł100 max imo!
*edited to add, obviously there's marketing costs but he's doing it long enough to walk in to customers and get a few bits to start with!

i can agree with you on this
i've had similar experiences and always found another job
if your aint happy gtfo and move on
cause that would have done your head in and eventually ate away at you
leading to insanity

If it was as bad as you say, then I would have fucked off. You spend most of you life at work, if you work somewhere where you're not happy surely that make you unhappy. Find a job you enjoy doing and stick with it imo

I have walked out of my last 2 jobs....
1st place the management didnt like a member of staff having an opinion as the rest of the workforce were all "yes" men so I was made the target so they could get rid of me and I finally lost it after putting up with it for 3 years and went for the manager, fortunately 3 of the workshop lads stopped me just out of reach of him otherwise it would have been an assault charge.
4 weeks later I walked into a better paid job and was learing a new trade too, which was great. All was good until I got good at my job and the lad I worked for/with started to get lazy and we ended up staying back till between 8pm and midnight most nights, supposed to finish at 5pm. A few words later and all was sorted and back to working as normal and finishing on time, give or take 10 minutes which was doable. Again he got lazy to the point of me running the workshop while he pissed off out to see mates and family and generally fanny on then he would return mid afternoon and start working and stay back till late every night. He didnt like this and eventually started slagging me off to other folk in the yard for leaving him to do all the work etc, but never would say anything to me. Needless to say I eventually had enough and slung my keys at him and told him to fuck off and find another monkey.
Unfotunately this time Im still unemployed 8 months later and have been living off savings and trading a few cars to keep ticking over but Im now properly skint and am going to have to seriously find something soon or Ill be in trouble
Hope you find yourself something soon fella, best of luck.

Sorry but all this I Cant find work is BullSh**t! I've not had a problem finding work, and also work that i'm doing is paid very well, lets face it.. Its lazyness for them who cant find work, really is.
If you was that sick of the job then there are Unions, more so speak to the Gaffer, if nothing changes then you can state in your contract of the Red Book, which by law each company has and needs one, and also Grevance Policy and Fredom of Speach. Sorry but what you did in all fairness was ok, you left on your own acord, fair play. But walking away is not always the answer.
Btw, Jobs have gone up rappidly and ive currently been in a confrance with MP's from London, they are getting better.
Check your current rights simply before walking out. Normally your boss would act on what you have said, and should otherwise hes breach of contract rights of Buisness.

good on you matt for having the courage of your convictions you have the right attitude to find another job, so i'm sure you will. all the best with it. i would advise one thing whilst you are in this position - really think about what you want to do and then go for it, don't just wind up doing the same thing because that's all you've done or whatever.

if he's got his own tools, then i'm sure he can start up on his own, or join a smaller firm locally to him
thinking positivly not negarotyly
