Default pedal box-clutch prob?

fitted me cluct line upto me pedal box and started bleeding it up today but after about 4 reservoirs of fluid still never had a clutch and was getting bubbles in the reservoir when taking foot of ped when bleeding which i dont think is right? could this be due to pedal set in wrong place or something maybe?

what slave cylinder are you using for the clutch?

as if its an AP one, the bleed nipple points to the floor, not up like normal

i take it the bleed nipple is the bit with the spanner on?

is it all connected up right to the slave cylinder?

are you using a pressure bleeder or just the pedal?

and what happens if you just open the bleed nipple and leave it, does fluid come out?

the pressure bleader wouldnt seal properly on the reservoirs so just using the pedal. the spanner is on the bleed nipple yes. i was pumping the pedal whilst mate was bleading it but after about 4 reservoirs full was still really spluttery coming through and getting air up the reservoir when i let off the pedal?

I'm not an expert, but reading the details, makes me wonder if the actual master cylinder is ok. The hydraulic clutch is just a sealed tube filled with fluid, if after all that pumping there is no pressure, but no puddle of fluid somewhere then maybe it is being pushed into the resevoir when you lock the nipple at the slave end. If I'm way off the mark, then apologies, as i'm used to working mine which is just a master, pipe, slave arrangement.

I have a similar problem with my rear brakes too, I cant get them to bleed and havent got a pressure bleeder either. I changed to a new Girling master cyl and it was even worse- I must have trapped more air in the line?. If you are getting air bubbles out of the pipe still then it still isnt bled fully yet I would think? I may have to invest in a pressure bleeder to sort it as I didnt have a h.brake or rear brakes, and as I have a bias box too- no front brakes till late in the stroke either.

yes its a compbrake pedal box, doing my nut in, blead up fronts all fine then about month later has no fluid in reservoir . just done soo much bleading on the clutch i dont know how it can still have air in it as front brakes was much quicker???

sounds like still trapped air the easiest way to bled these is to flick top of the peddle no more than 2cm not full strokes it helps dislodge trapped bubbles and wastes less fluid. After about 5mins flicking the pedal and bubbles stop then start to do the bleed nip up until it just closes then do few full strokes as resistance builds up sure sign its working.

is the mate thats helping shutting the nipple properly before you lift your foot lol? i usually get the mate to pump the pedal lol.

my pressure bleeder wont seal on my pots either, so that has to be done manually. one of the few jobs left that need to be done on my 3dr is to bleed the brakes...
