Trackday Car Idea - Joint Ownership - Interested?
I would really like to have a car for that I could use on trackdays, I was thinking of a FRST running 160+ BHP.
Problem is I already have two cars and I haven't really got the room for a third car, plus the costs of owning, servicing and insuring a third car solely by myself would be too much. Also my mechanical knowledge and ability is severely lacking, so somebody who's pretty handy with a spanner would be a big asset to the team, obviously there ability and work on the car would mean they would have to spend less on parts and trackday costs etc.
Is there anyone interested in a part ownership of a car for trackdays? Maybe split between 4 of us or something. CAn you have 4 drivers on one car at a trackday?
I'm not talking about a fully stripped out track monster or anything, just a quick little car for us to have some fun in throughout the summer.
We could do trackdays plus the track action at Ford Fair and National Day etc.
If there are any interested people, post on here or PM me so we could talk about it further, there's a couple of decent cheap FRST's about at the moment.

You can have as many drivers as you want at track days, as long as they have signed on, done the briefing and paid the money. 
Some dont charge any extra and others rip you off.
You all need to be good friends if your thinking of this sort of idea, it can work but splitting the costs equal is difficult sometimes.
Why not just take one of your two cars and have all the fun yourself

I think it'd be too much hastle unless they are your best mates who you really trust!
At the end of the day it will eat engines, brakes, pads etc and quite possibly have a bump. There will always be arguments about who pays up.
It seems to work for Porkie and Renton on the Reyland 3dr but then they both have far too much money anyway!

the car i am building at the mo is coowned between me and a very good mate. havnt tracked it yet so dunno how will tur out buts its been fne so far. would need to be a good mate you did it with thou i reckon. also he says if he rolls it first i get to have tiger stripes on the new one

Problem that I/we had trying to share a car was lack of track time mainly. I was using my mates saff and was under the 'you bend it you buy it' rule, which was fair enough tbh.
Did make things like Croft a lot cheaper though

It can work, we share a track car between 3 mates and have done this for the past couple of yrs.
Now on our third car having started with a Golf GTi, then a 205GTi and now we have a 200sx.
I buy and look after the cars and we split the bills by 3. The car is joint owned by the 3 of us.
Entry fees split by three, usually there is a small suplement for each extra driver eg entry is Ł150 plus Ł30 per extra driver so its less than Ł70 each. Do about 10 events a year, as long as its open pit lane it works fine in terms of track time.
Don't be put off by people telling you it'll cost Ł1,000's because it doesnt have to.

Well it works for some then.
I may have to use the S1 instead.
I just didn't think it would be quick enough as it's quite a heavy car and I don't particularly like the steering.
Would it be okay if it was running about 150-160 BHP?

How does hiring cars for trackdays work then? Must cost loads!
