Whos been to the nuburgring(sp)?
Me and some mates have just booked up to go there easter weekend - cant wait
Anyway i know some of you lot have been before, and just wanted your opinons and experiences of your trip and the place itself
We are going in a 3 car group ( 2 scoobys and 1 2wd saff).
I shall be in the saff and was wandering what sort of preps we should do to the car beforehand. Its having a service , new tyres and brakes but was wandering if theres something that may have slipped the mind
Also any little things to remember like cameras camcorders etc!!!
Thanks - look 4ward to your response

they dont like you using cameras unless they are fixed in the car by some means or another,or dont get caught or saw,
oh and dont hit the barrier they charge you something like Ł2000 for each piece that you take out with the car, you dont need helmets as its classed as public roads,
Oh yeah one other thing if you decide to go go-carting dont headbut your mate (who is also wearing a helmet of coarse)as the guy who runs it fookin hates you for doing it and scowels alot, but is rather funny when look at his face

Dont be a pratt
Have a way out in terms of cash if it all goes wrong on the ring - ie credit card as towing and crashing will cost.
Get the AA booked just incase- be about 50 quid
Take it easy
Dont do too many laps in one go.
When we went ( with St3v3) we did 5 or so each and no more in one session.
Watch out for the locals- they know best and will bait foriegners who dont have a clue.
Have fun
Dont rush- 13 miles is a long time when u are hairing sound hairpins and blind crests and stuff. U WILL SWEAT.

PS- go karting for 30 mins properly pissed off all the Gerrys who were waiting for 10 minute goes.

Rene,
On your knees then .
Do NOT get AA cover, they have a Nurburgring exclusion clause - go for RAC....
It may be that we won't be going at Easter, but a few weeks later, as Easter is at the end of March this year and the weather is likely to include snow at that time of year . Also, the Nurburgring has yet to release their opening times, so booking now is a bit premature .

Also the Rings recovery truck (hopefully not needed) doesnt take cards of any sort. IIRC its 180 odd Euros.

The form is available free of charge from your nearest post office.

hi mate, not been there personally but a lot of mates have. They use a website www.nurburgring.org.uk -run by a guy called ben lovejoy. It's a mint website which has everything that you needed there, from booking the ferry to the location of petrolstations and ford garages etc.
Hope this can help?
