hi there quick question and after some input from unbised people on here ???

got chatting to a guy as he saw my cosworth ,and he says oh ive got a couple of those engines and boxes in my shed !!

anyway goes to see the fella and he has a full motor 2wd and t5 box ...
both are in good order and the complete motor has valve cutouts and on .25 mains and bigends
also says the box is a good t5 also

and he has a totally std 205 bottom end for a cosworth inc a std std crank ,rods and pistons but no head on this one

he told me to make an offer ,now i dont want to rip him off or rip myself off but would like the bits so what do you guys think is fair to offer him ?????

and pls mods this is not a for sale ad thx

any help is appreciated need to see the guy later on !!

 

if you dont want to rip him off then 2k ish, but i would offer 1k and gauge his reaction

to be fair you probably wouldnt ask this question if you didnt want a bargain

to add; if he's kept these engines & boxes he's probably fully aware of their value - he's just said "make an offer" in the hope you'd offer more than his own valuation

 

if im honest lads i mentioned 1000 to him and from gauging his reaction i think he,d maybe take it ...
as he mentioned hed rather see it go to someone local with a cossy lol

if im honest i only really need the box as mine crunches a little .. but be nice to have the spares i suppose ...

right update time just agreed on 1100 over the phone as have already seen the bits am now just off in the tranny van to collect cheers guys

yeah cheers for the info and advice am back home and got said parts in my shed lol !!!
gonna keep the full engine and box and sell on the other full bottom end to a mate !!
recoup some of her indoors shopping money lol !!
