Recently I have noticed more and more tags that are just abuse, can someone explain to me what the point of having them is? Just seems like a way for people to write anonymous comments that would otherwise have them banned.

Give some examples which have had an impact on you... I might have written them.

Speaking personally, I just do it for the banter with no harm intended.

its used for exactly that, annonymous abuse, for the keyboard warriors,

saying that, some are proper funny

 

I have not seen one personally insulting me or anything, I think I am a pretty "low impact" kinda guy
But some of them do seem a bit strong to me, and beyond "banter" if you know what I mean?
I am as much for pisstaking etc as the next fella, but if you have something to say, say it on the thread, if its banter than noone is gonna mind, a tag just seems snide.
Its obviously a function designed to help the search mode etc, and its used for that on other sites no worries, on here it just seems to be used to call people "gay nazi jew donkey kisser" or something

 

yeah, some are well funny, I agree, but tbh, they would be just as funny on the thread, in the open. I once called Rod a miserable old git with a pissbag, or something. I did it in the thread, not in a snidey tag, just seems the gentlemanly thing to do.

 

i love em; proper lol'd at some tags.

 

Unfortunately more than 25 characters... believe me I've tried.

well the mods can still tell who wrote the tags, so if someting is written about you & you find it offensive, report it!

tags are great if kept to banter IMO

I wanna know why kosman was suddenly the centre of abuse on most threads

 

They're innocent enough, if you don't like them, don't read them. I've often read a dull thread then laughed out loud at the tags.

I've got all the time in the world for funny, or clever one (or ones about Kosman), but the nasty bitchy ones are a bit on the cowardly side.

Sometimes, it's good to know what people think about you behind your back, that way you either learn to laugh at yourself, or change what it is that gets people's backs up!

look at the for sale stuff and you will see you can leave tags.

so if you think somthing is too dear or you just hate the guts of someone and nows your chance to stick the boot in you can. Just look and some forums allow it. i think the muppet room can be tagged ok by non gold members..
maybe worth checking to see.

I jumped on the "Tag Kosman" bandwagon recently... said he was gonna kick his bosses back doors in... mainly because I saw the theme of the Kosman Tagging System is that he'll stick his dick in anything.

I also have been known to add a "Coldo Tag" from time to time.

the posting of tags can still get you banned ...

if you see one your not happy with report it and the moderating team can trace the tag ..
infractions have been issued and bans will happen if they carry on once warned ....

 

Why not just get rid of the tag function they arent used for anything other than abuse

 

Where have the tags from this thread gone?? Did someone request they were removed... which would be fine to remove only the offending tag(s)... or did the Mod Team just blast them all out the water to avoid potential offence?!
