If you got pulled over and was able to phone your insurance company to clarify you are covered i would think it would clear it with the cops.

The mid database is updated every day at midnight.
The insurance company have 7 days to add the car to the list.

What he said^^.
Ace in theory practice is different, have known it not added at all ever, despite being insured.
Plod cannot legally take the car without making efforts to establish the real situation, normally by phoning the insurer, each insurer has a dedicated phone line for this sole purpose.
Me gf's car is up for tax in April, was taxed april last year and still shows as untaxed, despite being done at a local DVLA office, L714 DOD, astra, so I don't have a lot of faith in the databases.

keep the cover note with you or if no cover note then note down your insurance details and keep them with you. you will be insured but if plod does pull you over you can tell him when you took it out, hand over the details. 5 min later they've made the call and your on your way.

Yeh a phone call would usually clear it with the insurance company but not if its fricken late in the evening or at night as the insurance company would be closed...

Happened to me before, took the car off me despite me claiming my innocene.
Waited for the truck and when it arrived it was the wrong as they needed one for a 4x4 lol

Had to wait for another one

Fools messed by exhaust and whacked me £150 to release the car

I did get the money back after 3-4 months but the hassle and agro

As above as long as you phoned the insurance and they set it up dont worry.

Did you get it running right in the end then?(or was that someone else)

Save leaving your ins policy in the car just write your policy number down and the phone number. My car does not get picked up by ANPR but if the police PNC the vehicle it comes back as uninsured ?!.I nearly had it taken off me because I could not prove different.

it was me, took it for mot this morning and it failed on emmisions so bought a new set of plugs and a new lambda sensor then started her up and was still the same, i then decided to have another look for air leaks so removed airfilter from the airbox itself then looked down hose to the throttle bopdy only to find a piece of fucking foam covering the maf, its the piece of foam from the rocker breather which plugs into the air box, what i cant work out is how it got passed the air filter. but all back as it should be now and she is running spot on again.

just hope this insurance stuff is sorted as i need to tax it in the morning and dont have a cover note or nothing yet which is why i asked the question here about the database.

Anyone that has incurred expense owing to thier insurer not putting the car on ther database can claim a refund from insurer, even if through county court, part of the county court act whereby you have recompense from wrong doers.
