Default Poor Ezi!

So this is what happens when a flat bed pickup lorry drives into the side of you on a blind corner doing about 50mph....

Poor door

The worst of it all..

Fucking lorry! I went to claim off his insurance but they will write of the car based on its age! AND I WILL ONLY GET £300!!!!!! WTF! its done 30k FFS!

So it looks like there is fuck all i can do but repair it and start again!

Buy a new one mate, not worth repairing.
If you can't pick up a similar one for £300, then make your insurance company aware!

Default Sucks.. But what can you do?

Lets get the ball rolling! Got up nice and early to source some parts and get her fixed! Phh, its not that bad!

Off with the old...

... and in with the new...

Some metal working later (which is since even cleaner, sanded and primed)...

Took its time but well worth it, swapping the door card, central locking and window winder mechanism (which i had to drill out the old rivets and swap over from my old door, previous owner snapped the winder holder).

nearly ready for the most important bit...

All in all i have spent £40

Windscreen - £25
Door w/ mirror - £15

If anyone knows any good windscreen fitters in plymouth please say
next paint job.

Well minus parts i got quoted fully sprayed £350 (parts would have been around the 50 (with the other black wing mirror) so all in all £400.

I think i should beable to get it to around £200 in total. Half price fix

careful though mate, somebody ran into mine in december, we checked it over and apart from cosmetics (bumper, wing and door) the only thing we could see wrong with it was shock and bottom arm, insurace engineer had a look at it, we agreed on a price plus i got to keep the car, got the new parts to get it rolling again then i got a letter from the insurance company with the cheque saying it was a Cat B so it had to be crushed, was well gutted

Saaaavage mate!

and i guess the price printed on the cheque was WAAAAY less than what it was worth to you!

I hope i can get it sorted before MOT, get that pillar filled. I have looked over it and the inside of the pillar is fine. It drives straight with no rumble. I hope everything is sweet on her. First car of course, i aint letting her be killed under a crusher!

She will be back to normal soon!

Thanks for the comments
