car loans worth it or not?
I am getting rid of the laguna and at present am debt free, (apart from my credit card which is taking a battering for my house improvments, but i plan to have that clear again in afew months)
Anyways I dont have any loans and the laguna and rst are bought and paid for, but i paid 4900 for the laguna and think its only worth 2-2.5k max so I am thinking of getting a car loan or buying a focus on the ford options thing as I can only afford to put a grand to my car at the mo cos of all the home improvments and so on and dont want a shit heap and want a nice newish car, but am not sure

If you can't wait get one but if you can, sort yourself out a savings account and wait a few years which I will do in the future after taking out a loan for my first real car (rst after 3 other escorts )!

don't get a loan from the car dealer, mega interest, get a bank loan and and buy cash, lower interest rate plus you can haggle the price of the car down with an outright buy or better still buy one that's a year old or so with low miles, that way the first owner has suffered the initial depresiation cost and you get a motor that will only loose a small amount for a year or two.
If you have the never, visit an auction, get new motors going through dirt cheap, and as a private bidder, you can out bid the dealers as they need to buy and mark it up.
My mate got a loan from a garge and was paying £180 a month, he found out after a year that only £90 a month came of the loan, the remainder was interest.
