Default how much is this worth? fiesta ST tdci 1.4...??

fancy buying it for a second car for the missus to run around in, she is jsut about to pass her test so i thought it would be something good for her until we let her loose on the nice stuff.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=260546316774

remember it used to be a van and its a cat c car. he says he wants around 5k for it. is that not a bit too much? i was thinking more like 3500??

Yeah thats what i thought, thanks for that, i didnt think to look on there, she really wants a diesel as thats what she learnt in!....typical but hey its for her so she gets. i saw the otehr blue tdci one on ebay, and she didnt like it, still think that ones too expensive.

i offered him 3500, is that too low? or about right? could be tempted to go a little higher as its quite nice but cat c and old van keep niggling at me.

The van bit wouldn't worry me, but I'd want photographic proof of what it was Cat C'd for. If it's just bodywork damage, then that's all fixable and obvious, but if there was suspension damage I'd be wary and it could have been 'bent' underneath.

on a plus side £35 to tax a year is awesome!

I would say 3500 is a reasonable offer, at the end of the day as has been said it is cat c and a van convertion. It's going to put plenty off, ok, maybe some numpty will bid like crazy, but if it goes for daft cash then it wasn't to be.

Petrol will only take a few kangaroos to get the hang off lol!!

I would hold firm, remember you aint seen it in the flesh, could be a tatty or poor job done on it.

what do you think? bearing in mind i will need to fly from glasgow to london and drive the thing back if its in good nick.....if not flight back!

I would say it didn't sell and he should be happy to take 3800 as it is not far off.

Stick to you guns, tell him your keen, have the cash but are actively looking and WILL be buying something in the next week.

Remind him you have a lot of travelling to do and that the most you can go to is £3800 and that that is a genuine offer. Leave the ball in his court and stand firm.

If he waits over a week and then calls tell him your offer is £3500 lol!!

yeah i know, i checked on direct.gov.uk . told him the same thing and he said just get it changed by the dvla but i said i dont think they will change the 'category' of the van to car. i know they do changes but i doubt they would hange this....

left the ball in his court, told him i wont go above 3800 and to give me a call if he wanted to sell.
