Broadband providers...
Just had ANdy (Mr Manc) on MSN raving about his upgrade to a 1meg line...
Got me thinking...
512 is getting a bit dated now, and whilst I still think it's fine for normal web surfing, 1meg would make a diff for donwloads and uploads (I guess)
THing that I didn't realise (and have been meaning to ask about for some time) is usage limits.
I'm on Freeserve (now Wannado) and not sure of the package I was/am on and whether it has changed, so I gotta go under the assumption I have a 512 line with a 2gb monthly download limit.
Now we got 2 PC's connected 24/7, obviously net surfin has increased, and whilst we don't have any P2P for downloads, I use a couple of FTP programmes and send/recieve stuff (tunes etc) via MSN, as does my sister quite a lot....
This is probably hammering the 2gb towards it's limit now, so wondering whether to change to an unlimited line?
Tiscali do 1mb with 2gb limit for £15.99 - think thats a pound more a month than I have now, but double the line (mines 512) - but they also do a 512 unlimeted for £20/month (or 1mb/unlimited for £25/month)
Now I don't pay for the BB line (my old dear does) so not really my call - if it was me I'd go for the £25 1m/unlimited) so wondering if it is worth going for the £20/mointh 512 unlimited?
Thoughts please gents?

I deal with a company that I use when getting businesses online etc - they do a 1Mb ADSL - £28.20/mth - unlimited download, plus at least one static IP address - handy for hosting etc - only downside is they charge a £58.75 setup fee. If you want anymore details PM me if it helps!!

Only stuff I really use the PC for (online) is PF, couple other forums, ebay, web serches (like google and stuff) the odd download etc... Mainly jsut web surfin really - oh and email..
So I really think 1mb won't make much of a difference to that side of it - only thing I can see it helping is download times/speed, and since I don't do a lot of them not overly concerned. Anything I do need to download I just que up and leave overnight when no one is using the otherPC anyway (cos if I start d'loading it slows the other PC down as it saps the connection through router)
SO prolly bestoff with the Tiscali 512 unlimited (£20) - any others in the bracket out there I need know about? Mainly - any cheeper?

Right, after a little diggin, it seems we are on the "old" Freeserve (Wanadoo) 512 package, which is £27 a month, but unlimited, so think I'll stick here, as several sources tell me Tiscali ain't been as reliable recently....

Maybe Andy, but same can be said here - been with Wanadoo (well originally Freeserve) for a good couple years - BB - and a year or so when I was on dial up) and last time I had to ring them was to activate my BB connection 2+ years ago.... Ain't let me down tbh....
And since I am on uncapped, I think I'll just stick - easier than changing email address etc......
