***Passionford Ring Trip 20-25 May 2010***
Full details of the unofficial Passionford Ring Trip for 2010 below. Anyone welcome, the more the merrier. I'll post more info, names dates and what not as it becomes known.
Northern folks:
Some of the crowd from up North normallt use a Hull overnight crossing - costs something like £260 but could save a 5-10 drive getting to and from Dover. I'll add details of that when one of the Northern gang lets me know (hint hint to Rick!!)
Southern Folks:
Ferry booking details:
http://www.norfolkline.com/ferry/
For a £10 discount on the return crossing, you MUST book by end of Sunday night 31/1/10. If you do, you get free amends, which basically means you can change details (car reg, dates etc) anytime up until 31/5/10.
We're on the 8am crossing over on 20/5/10 and the 4pm return crossing 25/5/10 - cost of £26, plus in my case £1 for using Visa. Free for Electron, and £4 for most credit cards.
Ferry for £27 = BARGAIN
On the first page, in the "Offer code" box type the letters EBF in capitals
Rough itinerary:
Thurday 20th May
Leave UK on 8am crossing will see us at the Ring for the evening session:
20 May Thurs 17.45-19.30 Evening sighting laps on the RING Night out, meal and plenty of drinks
21 May Fri 14.15-19.30 Early morning hangover, up the Castle for fresh air and lunch then afternoon session on track
22 May Sat 8-19.30 RING (+ whatever else to do in area - museum, visit to local area etc etc)
23 May Sun 8-19.30 RING(+ whatever else to do in area - museum, visit to local area etc etc)
24 May Mon 8-19.30 RING (+ whatever else to do in area - museum, visit to local area etc etc)
25 May Tues 17.15-19.30 Off roading in the morning, if not done over the last 3 days, then head home Tues, going on the 4pm Ferry over to the UK.

It's a good deadline to work towards. Just make sure you're done with plenty of time to do some shakedown work on it. I did / helped on an engine rebuild on my Cossie and landed up with melted boost hoses, loose turbos, and finally a snapped inlet cam while I was there. Was a lot of hassle.
Make sure it's all good to go before you go!
It's a great trip, lots of laughs and socialising - plus plenty of nice cars being ragged to the bitter end!

15K+ Super Poster!!
Thanks for the post Si . The Hull crossing is expensive but it's lots of fun, chilled and you arrive fresh in Holland after a decent nights sleep. It's worth not having to battle across the m25 and you save a few hundred miles on fuel.
The only thing that remains for us northeners is to decide whether we sail on the wed or thurs night
Rick

Will add you nice folks, who are you crossing with and times/ dates? You going to your posh hotel again?
Rarri or Westy?
Good stuff, heavy reading, and was a dear trip due to Jeep damage and Evo fuel costs! Some people spend £500 some spend £1500. Depends how mad you go on cruising speeds, drink and no of laps done.
What's stopping you? It can be done cheaply if you shorten the stay, do fewer laps, and take an economical car rather than an Evo for example!
Perfect car for the job, see you there
Went one May and it was SO hot and bone dry. Lovely lovely trip. Last may was mixed - wet and dry.
Agreed
I use my bank account's free Euro Cover - Barclays Additons Plus
RAC or AA otherwise prob best bet - £56 for me once a few years back.

Ferrari F430 Spyder unless weather is looking stupid... then the 911.
if its dry. Roof down all the way! with Maria moaning about her hair blowing.
They are quite slow! hope we can keep up!
We will come on same crossing as you...
I've been staying at the Lindner Congress Hotel all last year, its bang on the Ring. I really like it there. Its all very new and nice and you can see people on the GP track. The food is excellent as well. Great breakfast spread!
and it has the worlds worst Casino! with Croupiers reading the rules from a book as they go along
