mate im so confident ill even give you the log book to the scooby,, if i bend the bettle you can have my impreza,,,,, and it gonna ahve a new clutch fitted before i go too,,,,,, and new nankang tyres too,,,, but im a man of my word,, i bend it and you can have my pride and joy !

Hows the GT2 running? you got new wheels yet?
Same plan for me in May mate. If it looks sunny, then Ferrari. If its wet then Porsche mate.

Hi mate ,used frankfurt hahn a couple of times last year and it's about the same as cologne in distance but cologne is all autobahn so can get your foot down and do it in 40 mins.
The cars running great now thanks, I sold the techarts and just painted my standard 18's for now and it's much better on track compared to 19's.
You've got a tough choice there in a 430 and 996 turbo to make

Great move on the wheels. Going do the same I think.... might just stay silver...
or have you seen the finish on the 996 Anniversary wheels? I might do that... but a darker smoked finish rather than blingy.

Yeah that will look good, I painted mine black with a silver rim the same as the tech arts were. Later on in the year I'm hoping to get some ccw c14's, they are a very light forged wheel but only available direct from the states, so just hanging fire to see if the exchange rate picks up.
What Tyres do you run, I've always ran pilot sport cups but as my standard wheels are 12" on the rear they need a 315 tyre and these are no longer available.
Tried 295's but they are really stretched.

Great tyres the Pilot sport cups.
I just run the pilot sports 2's now. I used to run R888's when I tracked it alot. Have you tried em mate? lots of roar and ride is not great, but they do hang on well!

Looks like i'm outta this one now. No one can map the management thats on it at the mo, so looking at a Ł1000 for Jamsport to put a Go-tech ECU on it and then map it. I can ne afford to do that and the trip. Plus the bastard things sprung a leak from the thermostat housing. Yet to look at that though.

RIGHT GUYS, just over 3 weeks to go,,,,, WHAT YOU ALL GOT LEFT TO DO BEFORE THE TRIP ?
i still got to bleed brakes, get my A048's fitted to a set of wheels, service the car and ermmmmm,,,,,,,,,, oh yeah change the gearbox diff and fit clutch and new starter motor too
anyone else well prepared ??

Got to fit some EBC yellow stuff on. They were cheap so thought i'd give them a go. 1144's last about 3/4 of a lap, but then they aren't designed as a track pad.

gotta strip the sump off and hopefully find that the oil strainer is blocked as oil warning light kept flashing around coombe the weekend.
apart from that she's ready to go!!!

actually XRT-si has a evo 7 hes hidden away so i might finally let him do me up the arse if he lets me borrow it for the weekend,,,,,, though i have more chance of stranger GIVING me hes porsche GT2 me thinks

fronts are a different colour but they are the same, they are at different heights though due to the floor not being even so the jack would only go so high

I'm in the same boat as you Ginge 
I doubt I'll be ready to go this year's trip sadly, too much to do and no time. I've got no engine and no gearbox currently.
Do you want me to cancel the room booking for you or are you sorting a different car to go?

si the good news is the box and diff are now sorted, my list of jobs left are as follows
1: change both lower ball joints ( well just one now as ive done one side about a hour ago,,, but ran out of light,,,, which takes me on to number 2)
2:charge the fucking battery on the car,,,,, 5 days of a inspection lamp,,,,, its now dead totally !!
3:bleed brakes, they felt off recently so give em another go
4:change tyres on all wheels im taking,,, all tyres are on the wrong fucking wheels
5
ut oil in diff,, i cant undo the bloody plug after changing the rear diff to make the new diff have LSD,,, now i can fill with oil !!!
6:sort out the earth lead,,, thats not a issue, i know where it goes now
7:change oil. clean filter and change plugs
8:wash the car,,,,, its fucking covered in oil
theres prob more to do,,, but thats all i care to remember for now

lee you know how much time effort and money i have put into getting my car ready
in the last 2 weeks i have fitted new gearbox, uprated clutch, fitted 1 diff to find shafts dont fit,, fitted new shafts to find the diff AINT lsd so rebuilt 2 diffs to make 1 diff, fitted tubular manifold, decated exhaust, got new tyres, new ball joints, fitted aerocatch pins as last time i had to tape them up and a load of other stuff i cant remember
so i sort of wanna take the car pmsl

Ive not got much to do, ball joints done, robbed a van from work to jumpstart the car,,,,batt is just too dead so im gonna take it to work and charge it,, tomorrow ill be mostly done im glad to say apart from tyres and bleeding brakes,,,, thats assuming the car starts
