Best place to put savings?
Ok, so its not alot, but anything is better than nothing? I have £1k and not sure where to put for best return, high interest savings accounts aren't exactly returning much (especially on such a small amount)
Never had an ISA, I take it one of these would be a better place (as tax free) I don't intend to take the cash out (is a cash ISA better than shares?)

Zo, if you don't plan to touch the money, take out a long term ISA which pays better interest that a cash one ( which I have ) that way they know you're not going to be raiding the fund on a regular basis.

Know a geezer who had a fair bit of money in shoe boxes under his bed....didn't trust banks??
Anyway, when the new £20 notes started to filter through, he was in a panic. Constantly on my case to swap notes with him so he could re-save them.
Never understood why you'd do that.
