Car been in bodyshop for like 3 weeks, went in running fine, seen it more or less every day. Its not been driven apart from being fired up just to drive from ramp to ramp. Battery was dead this morning, fired it up earlier to bring it home and she's developed a missfire from the word go.
Nothing out of place, idles o.k. after it warms up, but when you blip the throttle the usual staggering air leak type of sound is heard, more noticable round exhaust. Plugs and leads are o.k....any ideas???

O.k so I'm gonna take a stab at guessing this is a common thing if a Cossie's been fired up once or twice, switched off immediately after moving and left for a couple of weeks then?
I would have thought driving would be enough to clear the plugs

Dont change the plugs....just clean them.
likely just fouled from being started on cold start, stopped before it gets a chance to heat up or taken for a blast to clean the plugs up...
driving sometimes is enough, but if that cylinder isnt firing, it cant clean the plug..

What plugs are in it? If they are iridiums, once they're fouled they're fucked. If they're 071cs then clean them by dowsing the end in carb cleaner and setting them on fire, you need to burn the contamination off! Chuck them back in and try again.
Did they need to touch anything in the engine bay in the bodyshop? Would they have any reason to disconnect earth wires etc.?

Nah, no reason to play with earth wires apart from disconnecting the main battery terminals when welding the rear quarter panel. Plugs are 71C's and there's just no other way they can be cleaned any more than I have. Checked injectors, not much change from removing plug off number 3 so will need to try another L8 ECU.

No I appreciate the advice, but I've changed them for a 2nd set and cleaned the existing low millage one's. No difference, hence why I'm looking into it further.

Ginger bollocks i know too many people who have had fooked cars and swapped shit over and ended up with 2 fooked cars. a mate did that and i ended up towing with a transit all the way from chester to warrington the back way
the previously mint car to camco 88 in warrington where they unlocked the ecu and charged a whopping Ł350 sovs (plus vat) for the pleasure ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
otherwise i would of said borrow me ecu![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
best of luck but i reckon its probably summat daft if its not used any water, they can lose water and give a misfire as the water goes into the bore and out and won't fire ion that cylinder,i have seen it squirt out when i took the plug out to check for sparking

Nothing out of the ordinary guys, everything tested and working as it should, but a few things point towards the ECU. I need to borrow one to confirm it.
