Default where to get shortened number plates made?

Got a number plate for my birthday, nothing too fancy just a 5 digit number with my innitals on it and im wanting to get a smaller plate made up for it.

now i'm wanting legal size letters and spacing so thats ok, but im wanting the plate to be actually shorter.

i've seen places that will make you these with a boarder round which is what im after hence why im not wanting to just buy one and cut it down myself (which i will do if i dont succeed with finding somewhere to make me one with a boarder!)

any ideas? i remember seeing it on the net once when i was ordering old plate but i cant remember who it was with!

On that site though there is loads of different sizes?

What sizes would i put in for a standard lettering size just basically cut down, like yours Jimbo? Only mine is a 5 digit plate....

My plates are 16 x 4.5 on the site I used, and that is quite tight for a 6 digit plate.. As far as I know there is no legal requirement for length, alsong as there is an 11mm gap between the edge of the letter and the edge of the plate.

The next size down from mine is 14 x 7 for some reason but that makes the height to much. By the time you've put a border round a 5 digit plate I would say the 16 x 4.5 is going to be just right without making it look to cramped.

Hi

cheers for your replys, im not too sure on the length, just as long as the height is 112mm (legal height) and the digits are legal size and spacing. Just want the plate to be as short as poss with a boarder

just like the picture i posted above!

Here you go, standard lettering but pushed up to the edge. The white depicts a standard width plate!

Pm me if you'd like a set.

Cheers
Chris

Wouldnt like to say if they will mate, if it has the necessary marks then I cant see why not, although for the sake of a few quid more it could be worth having a plain boggo pair made, or keep your original ones in the boot just in case. All depends how anal the tester is I suppose.

Gus - templates are done mate but am in Switzerland until the weekend. I'm off monday and tuesday so feel free to pop over to collect
