Crew/Backstage/Riggers etc....
Anyone on here do anything of the above in the entertainment industry? For example at the O2, Wembley, Earls Court etc....
Just before the Michael Jackson tour was announced i was put in touch with a friend of a friend at the O2 because he was looking to take on some stage hands/riggers to work back stage for the MJ concerts and such other productions they have on down there.
Now typically my luck MJ pegs it, so my job was ripped from underneath me and because of all the financial issues that were over hanging AEG due to lack of insurance covering MJ's residency all recruitment was put on hold and or cancelled! To say i was gutted and I'd go as far as saying i was well fucked off as my dream job had gone up in smoke! Since then i've been in contact with that chap down there every month or so to see how things were going and just to keep me fresh in his mind should they start employing again...
But the last month or so he seems to have vanished off the face of the earth! So i was really looking for another point of contact down there because i had that job in the palm of my hands! Ready to start and everything! So gutted!
I'm relying on the 6 degrees of separation thing lol
Any teeny-weeny bit of help would be very appreciated!!

Are you a ticketed rigger or more after general stage work?
Try Gallowglass for agency work; Rock Steady for security; Capital Sound / Britannia Row for noise stuff box pushing; White Light / PRG for LX stuff box pushing.
