What web browser?
As above, what you all using and why? I am currently using Internet Explorer 8 but it seems to be so slow. I have heard of other people using Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome but not quite sure whether to change or not. If i do change to one of the other 2 is it easy enough to go back to IE8 if i want to and are they both (Chrome & Mozilla) straight forward to uninstall if i end up sticking with IE8.
What are your opinions?
Cheers.

Ive used firefox for years now, much faster than anything else ive used and also safer and i never have any pop ups etc.
If you install firefox or whatever you can still use IE8 at the same time, and yes any is very easy to uninstall

While Firefox has some technically better features, IE is easier for me to patch using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyser. (I have to ensure that 1250 machines are always patched up to date)
For those finding IE8 slow, re-registering one of the DLLs may solve your problem. From the command prompt do :-
Note that if you try this using Windows Vista, you must do this from an elevated Command Prompt window; type cmd in the Start menu Search box, right-click the Cmd.exe shortcut, and then choose Run As Administrator.
For those finding IE8 slow, re-registering one of the DLLs may solve your problem. From the command prompt do :-
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
That re-registers the ActiveX Interface Marshaling Library and can make massive improvements to the performance. Note that if you try this using Windows Vista, you must do this from an elevated Command Prompt window; type cmd in the Start menu Search box, right-click the Cmd.exe shortcut, and then choose Run As Administrator.

Could you give me an idiots guide of how to do this in laymans terms, ie where do i type in regsvr32 actxprxy.dll, what is the command prompt? Yes i am the original idiot and with out wishing to brag i am the dummy that dummies guides were originally written for lol .
Cheers buddy.

No bother.
Assuming you're using Vista or Windows7 - If you click "Start", then "All Programs", then "Accessories". One of the items listed is "Command Prompt". If you then click the right mouse button over the "Command Prompt" item it will display a menu. using the normal left mouse button, click on "Run as Administrator".
You will be asked to click "Yes" to agree. When you do this a black window will appear on the screen. This is the command prompt.
Type regsvr32 actxprxy.dll in the black window and press the enter key.
A popup box should appear saying "DllRegisterServer in actxprxy.dll succeeded." click OK to close this box.
Now type exit and press enter. This will close the black window.
Now start IE8 and hopefully it should be quicker?
There is more info on this fix here (where I found it) :-

Any prob's post back & I'll try to help.
cheers

Firefox gets my vote here and has done so for the last 4 years at least.
Sorry, but Internet Explorer has gone from practically 100% market share to being a huge big FAIL. Microsoft started losing its way many years ago, but was too arrogant to see this and far too slow to improve its browser. Hence, its now losing market share big time.
Firefox + Adblock Plus add-on + British English Dictionary add-on is what I'd suggest to everyone.
