hi everyone !
i have a c reg s1 rs turbo
my question is
it has had a new fuel tank fitted before i brought it i have a feeling its a mk4 tank (s2)
as i does not fit flush with body
it sticks out slightly form the panel.
are they the same filler neck /tank and cap
also im sure the fuel is evaporating from my fuel tank is this common ?

I had trouble getting the correct fuek tank fitted to my mk6 1.6 cabbie. It knackered the sender unit so the fuel guage was always inacurate.
Sorry thats not very helpful to you but perhaps escort fuel tanks are easily mixed up?

Not 100% but iirc the caps are not interchangeable,was something along those lines.My mate had a S2 but was fitted with S1 wings and all and one way of telling was the fuel cap.

a s1 tank has the sender unit on the side and s2 has it on the top if that helps

check out tricky dicky on ebay, he sells s1 fuel tanks, I got mine from him and was spot on and easy to fit.If you check out www.seriesoneturbo.co.uk and look in the 'how to section' I did a thread on it.Just make sure the tank is as empty as you can get it before you start as it is a pain if you don't.Easy job and inexpensive really.

I think the only diffrence if any is the fittings (at least the one fron tank-pump)?

s2's have sender on top not side well mine does anyway however it has the fuel pump on the side if that is what you mean
