Are you really surprised people don't do things for a mk3 mondeo?

my first thought on seeing the thread title was ... why?

no offence mate but there are more important things to do to youre car other than shiny pointless crap under the bonnet of a model that isnt known as something most people would want to look at. imo

I think what there getting at is its not the most desirable car, therefor a lot of places wont make stuff for it. i understand why some people look at mondys the way they do, and can see where there coming from, the not the most interesting cars, and everyone is entitled to there opinion, and what they like/dislike, but im on my 4th mondy now, and i love them. dont take it to heart mate, aslong as you like it, its happy days.

nothing wrong with mondeos at all, they just are not a car that people tend to aspire to so not many fancy bits get made for them, plus the fact im more into function over form and hence shiny shit isnt for me, anybody wanting to tart up under the bonnet of a normal everyday car no matter what it was would get the same response from me so i hope you can see that no offence is intended.

regardless of whether or not mondeo's are worthy of engine bling, many of them have had blinged up engine bays (too many IMO, who bling'd up their engines but had no real mods lol)

wootty at MSF makes the mondy bling at a good price, here is his ebay ID you could try contacting him (he doesnt have any bits listed at the moment but he usually does)

cheers guys AS don't do anything for it. the main reason is the car is also used as advertisment for a detailing business so a few shiny bits would be nice. I am not after the ususl RS boys idea of it its there chrome or gold plate it but the engine bay is a slab of black so I want to break it up a bit. the car is also the daily and I have something much nicer that I aspired to and now have so dont worry.

Well played for blowing STs trumpet, annoys me we play 2nd fiddle to RS and XR brands. Peeps forget STs were Fords main performance models in last decade or so while Ford um'd and arrh'd about building RSs.
As Percy says, Wooty and AutoSpecialists are 2 I know about.

cheers I only joined for a bit of info and seems to look like most on here are keyboard mechanics. you ask for info and you then get asked personal details to justify why u have asked the question in the first place!! a few are up their on ar5e I think. but hey ho. I had a saph4x4 and TBH my mondeo is a hell of alot better car and is just as quick. plus it has not started to rust yet!

That's normal, though. Just ignore...

And it's not just forums. If you ask the same question in a pub you'll also have the odd one asking back "what do you want that shit for?".

Have to say though that I don't really like underbonnet bling either...

How about painting some of the plastics? The shiny covers look a bit half hearted IMHO.

Thats what I am intending to do the strut brace is being painted hyper silver to make it stand out. the main engine cover has been plastic welded and smoothed and painted dark graphite grey (same colour as the R35 skyline wheels). what I am after is the 3 main sections in the bonnet plated . and a few plates over the fusebox and servo res. Also the bonnet has been removed and clear coated to give it a shine rather than the dull finish. The main reason is to highlight parts so its not now a sea of grey.
I have aready mirror polished the turbo shield so this is where I got my idea of doing a few bits more.

Why not try Plasti-Dip?
That way you can remove your design for every show easily for cheap.
Plus I really believe that Matte is the new "shiny"

Cheers,
