Default My Recession beating 540

As some of you probably remember , a couple of weeks ago i was lucky enough to grab a bmw 5 series for a very reasonable price from a friend of someone on here .

Since picking it up i have fixed a couple of issues and had it serviced and checked by a local "specialist"

I was intending to get it sorted and sell it for a decent profit but i got properly fucked off with some of the stupid offers i was getting so decided to keep it

heres how it was when i got it

and now

im just waiting for the coilover's to arrive so its sitting a lil high at the mo.

A totally sorted , rimmed up ,4.4v8 for less than £1500 so far

Mate put some msport bumpers on that and it will fetch big money! A mate of mine just sold a ropey 1998 520i 140k+ for £3000 just because it had the bumpers and a set of paras.

Shadow line and bumpers and you'll get 4k.

Wheels look cool! As above, changing the bumpers would make a huge difference. Are they genuine headlights or aftermarket jobbies?

first pic car looks respectable
but with the big wheels looks like the classic drug dealer/gangster car never been a fan of huge wheels.

thanx chaps

Sport bumpers are next on the 2 do list , trouble is finding them ! 500squids for replica's without paint & fitting.

I havent driven a daily with coilies but this will just sit outside the house like the last one did untill weekends so not a major issue

looks better in the first pic imo, but if you lower it and put a proper set of bumpers on it will look much better!

fuse number 24 missing = stopped the clocks and other leccy bits working
relay causing the wiper issue acording to carsoft codes(havent fitted new one yet)
and airlock in the water system causing erratic temp guage.

cant fault it otherwise m8

i do think when putting big wheels on e39's they need to be staggered, ie rear wheels wider than the fronts

Twellsie, couldnt agree more
thing is the wheels (without tyres) were less than £300 brand spankers
i wanted a set of m parra's with the 4" rear lip but they arent available for at least 4 weeks yet and the old wheels were buckled, kurbed with 2 fucked tyres .
i'l see how much clearance i get once the coilovers are on and then see if the parra's will fit under without too much arch work

I agree although not those ugly 18" things.

These are the only wheels for an e39

Lm's look stunning on the e39 if i still had mine thats what would be on there.

M3 = CH
