Anyone know who sells a thermostat for a zetec engine that opens at a slightly lower degree?

If I remember right the zetec stat is a double stat ?, with the heater circuit having it's own stat all in the one bit.
I downloaded the WAHLER stat catalogue for ford vehicles, got it somewhere around here, I'll try to find it and look up, but don't hold out much hope.
Why do you need a lower temp one ?

Lowering the stat temp wont really help with an overheating issue. Is it running a std FRS rad? I know space is tight under the FRS engine bay but could you fit an extra rad in? Heater matrix's are sometimes useful?

It doesn't really overheat unless you absolutly rag the hell out of it. but it was more of being on safe side, I am looking at bigger rad options. might go to a connect rad, there bigger than the focus ones

Just checked, seems it is a bogo type standard stat, a 4270.92D, there is a 88C version of you 92C stat, 4270.88D.
The 88C stat is used in amongst others most zetecs in escort 5/6/7/ sierra 1.8TD tourneo connect, 2.5 tranny.
I would scour a QH catalogue, as sure you will be able to get one much lower than this probably down to 78C-80C.
If it runs a bit hot a lower temp stat will not cure it, better cooling will, a lowet temp stat open that bit sooner but will just give you slightly longer before the problem occurs, won't stop it though.
Wahler also make fully electronic thermostats, to completely eliminate the conventional one, much much better control of temps, not cheap though.

Have you tried to drill a hole in it, that should help it

Cheers

Try a custom made copper rad, vastly better cooling, adn last a hell of a long time.
