Does anyone know much about these on here?

I'm thinking of getting one
I know I'll probably have to do some work to it unless I pay decent money for one.

Is it hard to get parts for them?

well they do em in yellow AJ so thats a good start!!

jokes apart I helped my m8 restore a mk3 spitty in the middle 90's, there easy to work on, as long as you get a relatively rust free one you will be fine.
parts are very easy to get for most models apart from the mk1/2 as there is a huge network of specialist that remanufacture those all important parts unlike fords lol

No, but I love em for the fact that they are a great feat of British engineering and intelligence, built and sold to compete against their own companies

What do they do proce wise nowadays, MGB's are daft money now.

Loads of specialist out there and parts too but really aquired taste in every way! A lot of people put bmw rear end into them and mgb's the handling is so much better for it. As long as main body and chassis largely rust free everything else is rebuildable quite cheaply. Depends where you rather spend your money on mint ones either rust or running gear as owners rarely fix both areas and prefer to polish it instead.

I think I'd be happier buying a clean one in need of some mechanical attention.

Hi, I'v done shit loads of work on one, my mate bourgh one for his miss as a wedding present, got it with out a mot, so we put it though one and it came back with 6 pages of problems and faults, sorted all of them after a long time, its was ment to be the car she when to the wedding in, but she took it out for a lil driver once it had a mot, and she took it out and thought she'd see how fast it would go, and she blow it up, well snapped the crank!
so i rebuild the engine, but its again more problems since, and we've not touched it in over a year! It never made it to their wedding lol.
There a lil bit of a pain to work on, but not to bad, part from the bonnet, it will always be in your way! and the way the control are layed out are shit!I'm not a big lad and I really strugged to drive it, unless you got girls feet!
Best place for parts is Rimmer Brother in Lincoln.
