Been offered this car, its been bored to 3.1 and has been chipped and remapped, suppose to be mint, I know a cars only worth what someone is willing to pay, especially with older fords or any old car for that matter but how much would you say this is worth, also if anyone in the Warrington area knows the car?

Not much for the blue painted bits, but the seats have been retrimmed

Personally I cant see it at much more than £6-700 at the very most, there is some bold claims saying its a 3.1 I would want proof of the work carried out on it.

 

Thats whats putting me off, no paperwork for any work just whats said by email from him to me, interior wise I couldnt live with, Im purely buying it on body condition and engine performance and condition!

It would only be a toy but dont want a cheap car that turns into an expensive car

well hes spelt things wrong in the ad which puts me off to start with...and then theres the 3.1 part, 2.8 as standard or 2.9 i beleive, thats a big claim, and doesnt seem to know whats hes on about with the chipped and remapped.

imo its not worth it, and he doesnt seem to know whats hes on about, just my opinion though

 

Can you bore the 2.8 or 2.9 out to 3.1, surely it would of been stroked?

Also why would you have your car remapped then put a chip on it, makes no sense?

 

to be fair it looks in realy good condition but who knows the horrors the camera hides...

 

Its a 2.9 and probably still is a 2.9
Might have been chipped and to check just pop the cover off from above the love box as the chip will be a super chips plug in. At best they only give 5ish bhp in the real world. Would have not been remapped, that for sure
Its also stil got the air box as the first thing most owners do is sort the breathing out with a pair of k&N.
As a run around, they make good cars but as for getting power out of them, short of tt-ing them forget it
24v is the only real way
600 -700 is what its worth as it is id say
