Default duratec engine into a mk1 focus

hi guys im considering puuting a duratec either a 2.0 from a mondeo or fiesta st into a mk1 focus , with the scope for upgrading to a 2.3 in the future,
i thought it was a good idea due to the tuning potential and the weight of the engine being quite light compares to a 2.0 zetec,

plus in standard form they produce more power than a standard zetec.

looking at the mounts from the mondeo and the later focus's i think mounting will be quite simple as will the mangement,

the car it will be going into will be caged , stripped, polycarb windows blah blah, but will be used as fun/track/weekend kinda toy.

what do you think? good idea ? bad idea?
any links to people have done it before?
probably go along the bodies route aswell

yeah some of the later focus in the us ran duratec's

the reason not to run the 2.3 straight off is price , i cant find a decent used engine thats at a resonable price, where as there is a couple of duratec 2.0 ones on ebay for around the 500 quid mark

There aren't many 2.3's for sale second hane infact they very rarely come up, the 2.0 come for sale all the time, i'd suggest getting a low milage one from a mk3 mondeo due to the fact that they come with a mtx-75 box aswell (or at least the correct bellhousing)

Tuning wise i'd be inclined to go forced induction i.e super or turbocharged but there's always the throttle body route if your serious about the track - they do bolt on kits now with throttleboidies that'll see you straight over 200bhp

I think it'd be a good idea but why the focus? Why not go for a small lighter fiesta?

Oh and good luck!
