The size WILL be 205/40/17. Fortunately the cheapest 17" size.

Prices will be around £50 per tyre for something half decent I would have thought.

Cant really help with where to get them though near you.

seriously?? for low profile?? see i thought £150 each tyre sounded a bit steep!! i told him to go to a scrap yard and just get some steels but theyre quite nice alloys so if theyre £50 each that would be cool... i know a few garages in kent but not sure which ones might be the cheapest....

thanks

you will normally pay a fucking fortune for 17's from a 'normal' garage!
i reckon you would be best ordering from www.mytyres.co.uk or www.camskill.co.uk
if you order from camskill the tyres will arrive the following day. and they are prob cheaper than mytyres anyhow.

But dont forget guys, that for someone that doesn't want any agro, they will probably pay over-the-odds for fitting if buying the tyres from somewhere that cant fit them. Could cost as much as a tenner a tyre for fitting/valve/balance on top of the price of the tyre, which might make it not such a good option to buy them online.

Just a thought.

granted that you will have to pay for the fitting and balancing.. but ive found its still a LOT cheaper to oder the tyres online and pay for them to be fitted/balanced at somewhere like kwik-fit.. it only cost me £25 to have 4 17's fitted/balanced at 3.30 on a sunday afternoon!

true... i know someone that could fit them but i havent seen them for a while and it would be a bit rude!!

i might be being really stupid but do i assume that if they do the regular tyre that they will just do the low profile if ask?? sorry if im being stupid

there are many 'low profile' tyres.. you need to know the exacty size of the tyre (written on the outer edge (ie the bit you can see when you look at the wheel/tyre)
as christian says though im 100% certain the size of the tyre will be 205/40/17
just go into a tyre place and say 'can i have the price of the cheapest 205/40/17 (pronounced, two ow five fourty seventeen ) that you do.. fitted and balanced please.

at a guess there reply will be... 'hmmmm weve got pirelli's in.... £140 each... plus fitting! '

IMO, even if it hasn't got 205/40/17 on it now (and I would bet money that it has), thats certainly what it needs.

Katie, just grab the Yellow Pages and have a phone around. Let us know what you have been offered if you want some backup.
