Default escos tailgate - same as std escort?

As title - is the escort cossie tailgate (minus spoilers) and rear screen the same as a mk4 escort?
Has anyone got a diamond white one, if so?

Cheers

no, its the same as a mk5 one though...

there is just no holes drilled for the spoiler to mount - so u'd have to drill them yourself.

Doesn't the standard Escort bootlid make the spoilers sit too high?

The Cosworth boots ARE different. The edge does not run along at the same height as the back quarters. The cosworth boot is lower, so on normal boot lids it makes the rear spoiler sit much higher.

It is an easy way to spot cosworth replicas.

i know what you mean about that - but that isnt the tailgate that sits lower - its the rear quarters on the car which are differnet and are level with the tailgate WITH the spoiler on. they are about 2" taller than normal rear quarters.

check how the fake one here 1st the rear quarter sits on the line of the tailgate and the spoiler sits above.

whereas a real one (mine) the panel actually is taller matching up to the tailgate and spoiler .

The reason I ask, is I have a WRC spoiler I would like to fit to a tailgate. Do I need to source a cossie tailgate or a std one (which I guess would be cheaper). Its for a trackday escos so concours and buftiness not a consideration. Drilling holes just adds to the fun
Thanks for the info so far...

The rear tailgates are the same as any Mk V Escort, it is the rear quarters that are COMPLETELY different (which is why a replica without these will look shit, as the rear quarters won't sit flush with the rear spoiler on a replica - as you can see from the last photo the difference that you would get with a standard car's (not raised) rear quarter).

I thought cosworth ones had added stiffeners in them to take the loadings due to the top spoiler ?

Tailgates are listed diffrent on fords part listing so they are NOT EXACTLY the same

Only if the diffrence is a few holes

So yes they are diffrent then
