my mum and dad went to mazda to buy a new one-
salesmen told them they were bad on fuel, use a lot of oil and if you flood the car(apparently very common) starting it it has to be taken to mazda for them to sort it out?
needless to say they didnt buy one!

best advice i can give you is get the best one you can afford .ive seen ones with over 120,000 miles on the clock and are as sweet as a nut .but i have also seen ones with 40,000 miles needing a rebuild

they burn oil by design. it lubricates the tips. if u want them to really run well, put abit of 2stroke oil in the fuel.
ive never owned an rx8 but i have owned rx7s and they are brilliant, im sure the 8 would be as good.its is seriously important that u warm them up, u can do alot to them and they will take it, and if u do need a rebuild its alot cheaper than rebuilding a YB for sure.
they look good.
ive driven a 350z and thought it was abit crap tbh, the noise wasnt good and it wassnt very exciting, it was only getting about 22mpg aswel and ive read that rx8s are meant to get about 25.

Go and buy the January issue of PPC, there is a buyers guide in it this month for the RX8.
A work mate has one, the 230 model, he's had it a year or so now. nice car. He gets about 200 miles to a tank of fuel but he does drive it hard alot. He has had no real problems apart from the coil packs going but this is common and most people change them anyway as a service part now.

Im going to have a re-think!
Water pump went on mr2 today.Been told its going be about 6hours labour to sort it, cambelt has to come off etc etc then there could be damage to the head, then the MOt is due in march.
Im going to cut my losses now
Really dont know what to go for though

Heard they handle very well. Also heard about all the other mentioned problems, got offered one for the right money last year. The fact one struggle to keep with my Seat Leon TDi 5 years ago put me off...
