if you are talking about blueyonder first check if it is available in your area http://www.telewest.co.uk/Package-Designer/enter-pd.do

Nice one! Thanks

The NTL is available at £17.99 a month @ 512k.Suppose thats quick enough for me anyway,i dont use it for games ect.Just to browse ect

Download limit? How does that work? What would be classed as a download?A video you have to right click(Save as)on?Or a thread with loads of high resoution pictures?

Sorry about all the questions, kind of new to this

couldnt go back to a meg or 2 now.

when it says bandwidth restricted to 1 gig or whatever, thats total traffic, ie reading this thread, signatures take a bit more, mp3's EVERYTHING

Sorry about all the questions, kind of new to this

yer its a "always on" connection and doesnt interfere with ur phone line

yes, 5-6gb is quite a lot if ur just having half meg or whatever, however i download films and ive used that in a day.

if ur not gonna be downloading huuuge files, then u will have no probs i would have thought.

Doubt i will download films...well mabey a couple *Ahem

But that seems fine i suppose.I'll keep having a look around at different packages-They all seem to offer something different

So is it just a box thing i plug into phone line or does some guy come out and install stuff in my house?

yeh not bad

if u go with BT, you can do a self installation, telewest run a cable to ur house from end of drive or whatever (unless previous tenants have had before) and then attach a cable modem at the end of it.

they then supply you with either a USB cable or an ethernet cable to back of the pc. If you have an old pc, and have neither ports, DONT buy a NIC card off telewest for 60 or 70 quid, get down to a computer market and get one for a fiver.

Eclipse 2mb - 1GB traffic for £14.99 plus £1.75 per GB after that. Not bad if you aren't downloading massive files all the time.
