Sorry to hear this,i know whats it like, i lost my brother 9 years ago (not to a drunk driver) the driver who killed him was found guilty of causing death by dangourous driving, its still hard 9 years later at xmas ect, the grief does ease over time
The one thing i regret was not killing the cunt when i saw him in court, that fact he grinned at my mum when he walked as they couldnt send him to prison because of a illness! this countrys law system sucks

sorry to hear this mate, and fair play to you for being there for your mate and his family. not a nice start to the new year for anyone.
they should lock the cunt up and throw away the key.
best wishes to your mate and his family.

Really sorry to hear the bad news......my best friend died just over a year ago now killed by a drink driver We had served in the Army together for 21 years and he was just about to retire, he keft a wife and 3 kids and to die like that is just shite !!!! We had been on several Operational tours and survived them all, he was killed outside his house by some knobhead who couldn't walk home from the pub or get a fucking taxi makes my blood boil.

Again, thankyou for the comments and condolences.
Absolutely agree with drink driving carrying a minimum penalty of 5 years.. I know that previously, when I heard or read about a drink driving related fatality it was a real shitty feeling I got...... however, until you see the devastation it causes first hand, you can't actually comprehend how much damage it causes and the sheer number of people that it effects.
There are further details which (if possible) make it even more difficult to come to terms with.. such as the fact that Caroline and her boyfriend were just 10-15 yards from walking down their street where they would have been safe, the driver of the Mondeo was twice the legal drink drive limit, the car was stolen and once he'd crashed and killed Caroline... the little bastard tried to run away.
Cheers,
Grant

time does heal as i lost my brother and his girlfriend in a crash and they left a one year old baby behind, her family blamed my brother as he was driving and didnt let us see the baby again.
hes 19 now and dont want to see us.......all down to drink FUCKING driving.
