Right
I have two fire places - one in the living room and one in the kitchen/diner.
I have removed the old 70/80's Gas fires and want to replace them with something cheap ish (couple hundred quid max to buy/make) that will be a sort of centre piece to the room, I know peeps preffer something than nothing.
I'm pretty handy so can build whatever.
Dont want it to encroach into the room more than about 6 inches to maximise the useable floor space/give the appearence of space.
Both are originally real working fireplaces so will need to be vented to stop damp etc...
Ideally I dont want to install fires as its a cost and a pointless one as I have just installed a very good central heating system (havent we Tiff)
Low maintenance - ie No a Fish Tank isn't for me.
Show me the pics/ideas.
