Default Worried

This morning i happened to be looking out of my window when i spotted a flat bed lorry with crane on the back driving towards where the parking for where i live is, i watched as a man in a highvis jacket walked towards my car and walked around it but did not stop, he did not walk around anyone elses car and jumped in the lorry and they drove off. The lorry had the D.V.L.A logo on it, what did they want and why? my car is taxed, mot'ed and insured and is not parked illegally, its got me looking out the window every five minutes. Any ideas? thanks.

That does sound a bit suspicious but if its got the dvla written all over it maybe he was just looking to see if it was taxed, mind you i would have thought they have computers on board that give them that kinda info.

Did you make a note of reg/make & model of lorry?,maybe worth a call to D.V.L.A to see if one of their lorrys was in your area.

Or sleep in it with a shotgun for the next few nights, I'd give the local plod a shout just to make them aware of the suspicious behaviour.

The DVLA wouldn't even have their own trucks would they? Anything like that would be stickered up as 'VOSA' no?

got another car? box yours in for the night? + a clamp or something. Just make it bastard hard for them to get to if you're worried they're coming back. Oh, and as said, What car, and phone the DVLA and have a word.

i know for a fact in london the dvla use car spares of heathrow to do their work, afaik they always sub out to other companies, the only cars they use themselves are transit vans with tax cameras on top, move your car asap otherwise the next thing will be another thread on here about a stolen car

If its an x reg escort he may have been just checking to see if it was a scrapper left for dead so he could lift it and weigh it in.
If you have tax on it i woudnt worry but incase im wrong keep an eye out and ring the company if you can remember it.

I would agree about the scrapper theory if it was not for the fact that there are about another 4 escorts within throwing distance and one of them being rusty and 4 flat tyres whereas mine is in very good condition and he only walked round mine. Phoned the dvla and i have to ring the clamper division tommorrow. thanks for the replys.
