Default Fuel Pump Problem

The fuel pump on my cossie wont prime when the ignition is turned on, it has been rewired directly to the battery with a relay on the orginal wires but the car has been run since ive done this, the head came off last week and ive just gone to start it after refitting everything, every thing turns over ok but it wont start because the fuel pump isnt running?? any ideas anyone??

Many Thanks

Im sure ive heard somewhere that if there is a faulty sensor on the engine like phase/crank sensor. It doesnt give a signal to the fuel pump.

if crank sensor isnt gapped or working/plugged in, pump wont run...
