Unhappy Its christmas time, drink awareness please read

I am sure everyone hears from the older people not to drink too much especially at this time of year.I am 37 next month and don't listen to other people but please take this as a warning.I am attending one of my best mates funerals tomorrow. He died two weeks ago after drinking lager in the day and then necking some vodka. He went and sat down on the sofa and fell asleep and never woke up.They say he must have slipped into a coma and just shut down.He was twenty five ffs . . . .
I seriously can not get my head around it.I knew the guy for 9yrs,worked with him for 5 of them he lived in the next street and he was one of my motocross buddys. He could handle his beer and did used to drink quite a lot,not so much recently though ?!!
I think he had 600 units of alcohol in his blood.I was told 400 was enough to kill you.He didn't seem to be drinking that much recently though and no one can work out the high content.
He died at a friends across the road from my house,I am gutted.I was supposed to have been there but I had fallen out with my mrs and didn't go.I did see him when the first paramedic got there but it was way to late by that time.
He had used a few lives up already,he crashed a Tri-z 250 and fractered his skull a few years back resulting in hearing loss in one ear,a few things in between and more recently was knocked off his aprilia by a car which resulted in being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Sorry for the long thread but he was a fucking good lad and its just so wrong.

Sorry to hear of your loss.No age to die

Your right about the drinking and we all should take heed of it.

RIP your mate...

That is what I have been told.I was also told as he had no food in his stomach too.< this does not fit in as people witnessed him eating but I suppose he could of been sick.
As for the alcohol that would have already been in his blood would it not.The toxicoligy reasults will not be back untill January though.I know it seems extreamly high but that is what his family have been told.
When I first posted about the vodka,I think he necked over a quater of a bottle neat.Silly yes I know and yes I worked it out and thought fook me !!

RIP to your mate it's such a shame, but it does sound like you mate could of been a hidden alcoholic , it takes an hour to rid a unit of alcohol out your blood so if he just kept topping it up the numbers would keep getting higher, hope you begin to feel better soon it does ease i lost my best mate at 20 and he was like a brother too just remember the good and he'll always be that person

rax2wdrax

completely agree with what you are saying

BE CAREFUL EVERYONE

i have lost my brother in law back in august due to drink , he went out on a bender after an argument with his mrs , fell asleep in the pub after a lock in and never woke up again

only aged 27

the mrs and her mum have taken it hard and we are all still struggling to cope with it , they had to sit and watch his last moments from a cctv camera and listen to the 999 call in the inquest just last week

its just not worth getting wasted and recking a family

Sad loss so young

Its easy to get carried away, just be careful peeps, if not the alcohol itself, the false sense of bravery and invicibility its brings

RIP

i think you mean 600mg per 100ml of blood rather than 600 raw units of alcohol! So roughly 17 times the drink drive limit! most people take about 3 units to go over limit so roughly thats 51 units total or about 2 1/2 full size bottles of vodka!

Sadly its coming too common that young people die drinking! its much more common than when i was a teen lad. what the fuck has gone wrong with people and drink now?
