I bought a Panasonic TZ7 today and had a very quick play on long exposure in the back garden with a green laser, looks kind of spooky.

how can you laser without being seen yourself?
whats a basic set up to mase with pics like this?

Fiddy - Bring the shutter upto F16 and then use a 30 second exposure - should give you some rather interesting effects then

by guess its a hand held laser pointer and he's stood behind the camera whilst doing the pointing

Not as much as you might think mate. to take them i used my SLR with the standard 18-55 lens, a tripod and a remote. the tripod and remote are a must as you will get picture shake if you try handheld on long exposure shots.

Buy second hand mate, mines getting on when compared to the current SLR's. second hand you could get something like mine for about Ł200, then buy the lenses, tripod etc as you go.
