17608 wastegate bypass valve mechanical malfunction

ok so i presume theres something i need to remove and replace, its on a 2001 gti turbo, what were and how hard?


hoping someone on here knows google was kinda helpfull but not lol

hmmn thanks for the search link they seem to related to a n249 valve which aparantly is near the inlet manifold somewere, i called a mate of mine who works at vw parts and hes never even heard of one lol

What I'd do before bothering with it is to reset the light and see if it comes back. Happened on an old car of mine, light came on, I reset it and I never saw it again!

yea it did mate, its been doing it for ages never bothered me but sold car to me mum and its now not quite boosying right so time to rectify it properly, looks like the way to go is a bypass whcih is cheap as hell, atleast then i can do her a service also and it not hurt my wallet, coolant temp sensor code too i know theses engines are comon for it
