Just spoke to my mate who was working back stage at the N.E.C last weekend where Top gear live was held.They had 4 FOCUS RS,s in BLACK that when heated up driving under the lights turned WHITE.He had to keep hosing them down back stage because when they were left running,they would turn white.They drove out black and after a few minutes of driving turned white.Some special paint apparently.He said it looked cool.
Oh and Jezza was smoking back stage and no one would point out to him that it was illegal.

went to see this at birmingham and thought it was pretty cool! whole show was good but the paint changing RS's gave me a thought... can it be bought?????

 

I used to have a few Matchbox cars when I was younger that had Hot/Cold change colour paint^^ probably worth a look on google? I was probably about 6-8 at the time though, so 16-18 years ago.

Remember it was a Porsche 959 in particular. Probably still have it. Went from dark grey to white. Had something else which went red to white too I think.

Full size car would be awesome, especially in the rain!

 

just looked it up $430 for what they have as 1/4???

1 pint is roughly £130 so i take it thats a price for about 5 litres of paint... quite fancy this for something to experiment with looks bloody cool!

Seen the show in london the RS colour change was very good

 

You can buy the paint, but it doesn't last very long apparently, well a few months, but not enough to consider it a worthwhile thing to do.

The cars were driven through a 'heat tunnel' that changed the paint colour. Was absolutely baking in the cars for the drivers!

Amusingly, the only mods to make the RSs 'dance was to "pump the tyres up and sellotape the handbrake button in"

i remember them!, either put them in hot/cold water or hold them in your hand! completely forgot about them, only lasted a while untill the colours stuck tho, pretty cool tho!
