Default Urgent!! - anyone know about transit vans??

Hi,

my brother in law had a light bump to the front of his truck earlier. Pushed the bumper in a little.

BUT since then the belt/pullies on the front of the block have been squealing like they are slipping almost?

The fan seems to be connected to the centre pully by a rod - is it, just wondering if he has pushed the rad back and has put the pully under pressure?

ps it is an 02 2.7 diesel tipper single cab

normally cars an vans when hit in the front bend further in on impact then bounce back out, only by a few inches maybe, so it could have just caught that pulley and miss aligned or bent it mate.

think that is what has happened, must be some sort of drive off the fan behind the rad to the pully, will tell him to get it in to see what is what before it caputs it.

not sure if it is the belt slipping or a pully got damaged - did hear WD40 on the belt get rid of the moisture?

Is this true, spray it when running or when the engine is off if it is true?
