I bought a 1990 Suzuki LT500R quad bike earlier this year and made quite a few mods to it
Managed a few outings and races on it but it needs a bit more poke IMO.
Looking to get it ported and played with for a few extra HP
Does anyone have any recomendations for a good UK based 2 stroke tuner?

very very very good IMO.
I think they do give higher priority to their race customers thought to be honest... I get a similar impression from what I've heard abotu HT racing.

Give Mark Dent a call @ performancefab:
http://performancefab.co.uk
He will do do everything from hand porting the barrels to fabricating pipes....he even has his own dyno as well!
His own ~150Bhp RG500 has been legendry in the two stroke world for years....
Did a nice job of building My RG500 engine as well![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Just a bit of background on the engine at the moment
I've stipped and rebuilt the carb inc rejetting and recently added an FMF pipe, filter, and V force 3 reeds as well as porting the inlet boot to suit and its still not what I'd expect from this sort of thing, maybe I'm to used to fast cars
Its recently had a full rebuild with a 540 piston, only done about two hours ish now by the previous owner by Boretech
Planing to run a 34mm Lectron flat slide carb on 116 oct fuel and get some serious porting done to the barrel I reckon
Also looking to get an aftermarket billet head with interchangeable domes to adjust the squish and compression
Dont fancy porting it myself incase I fuck it up as you cant get the OEM parts any more
Stan Stevens is looking promising for the port and rebuild

Mainly using the bike for fun, but try and have ago at beach, oval and MX
I used to have a Suzuki LT250 then a Yamaha Banshee over 16 years ago which I had breathed on which seemed alot quicker looking back but I was alot younger then

Bit more kick up the arse and white knuckles accelorating out the bends is needed
Not tried gearing but it feels pretty good through the range as it is for what I'm doing
For an old motor there still the fastest most powerfull production quad ever made to date

have a go with the gearing first trust me i was a 125/250 and 500 AMCA exspert i won the satday at weston beach race in 1998 and then went onto sidecar motocross top 6 AMCA and top 30 ACU . Trust me your motor has more to give with the right gearing on it . go up 1 tuth on the rear and you will get a lot more snap out of the corners drop a tuth and you will loos the corner snapt but when the motor gets going you will have more top end dont do the front till you go 3 teath on the rear as thats a big step give it a go. all so when you put a after markit pipe on you will loos bottom end on the motor as they are done for mid and top power so thats why its time to play with the gearing....All the best

Nice bikes
You guys are propper mad to stand up on those things
I'll have to get some sprokets and have a play, would still like to get it ported and a bigger carb though
Might also look at the timing on the thing as it has never been checked, not sure if it can be adjusted or not
It also has an adjustable powervalve on the exhaust port so need to have a good play with that and make sure it is working properly
Previous owner had the rebuild done by boretech i recollect so unsure of what has or hasn't been done as I havent had the engine to pieces properly to have a look
Its done about 2 hours since rebuild with alot of new parts so should be working fine
