what you really want is this:

Obviously you need quite a big garden/drive area .

You can set up the radar to auto detect and auto engage targets in a certain area, so design in a buffer zone between street and cars where it destroys all targets.

The bits in red are what you want:

Most fire control radars can be set up to scan a segment/sector within range perimeters and alarm on intrusion or auto engage the targets in the fire zones.

Obviously you couldnt really do this for the drive of your average semi.....

easiest and most cost effect way to visably secure your property

also comes in handy when you want to keep the neighbours out too
Surely they can just walk round em though?

neighbour had a skip put in his front garden
the lorry went across the drive way, breaking some of the concrete
so we stuck some posts up later on in the week
the next week, the skip was full, but the lorry couldn't get it out with the posts up
and he came week after week after week until finally my dad relented and put the post down

but it was still stuck outside his house for 2 months

and don't forget the women in the merc who decided that my front garden was a good place to park her car while she went to pick up her kid from the school, she was lucky i put the post down after only 2 hours

and the neighbour also "forgot" it was there and skinned the whole side of his sprinter, the post still went up and down as normal so if it's going to take a decent rubbing from a sprinter i think i'll survive a ram raiding attempt from some dirty scally's

I love the stupid "ooh I've got a gun so I'm safe logic", well, yes, you'll be very safe tucked up in prison after you've shot the thief.

Indeed he did. And even though I think he was 100% in the right (even for shooting the kid in the back) he still did time. And it ain't worth going to prison over your car, as you can't drive it from your cell!

Yup, there's also the fact they should be locked in a cabinet in the loft, bolted to a wall.
But still, if someone hurt my family and I could get to the guns quick, I'd do time (anyway, someone sticking a semi-auto shotgun in your face is going to scare most people )
