Default i must be going mad!

after owning a saxo vtr and going upmarket recentley and buying my first ford a focus 3dr which im over the moon with.
im missing the driving experience of the vtr and the fact it was a much lighter car and a right laugh to drive.
thats not tosay the focus isnt but as its only a 1.6 and heavier its nowhere near as quick!
im finding im looking at saxo vts and 106 gtis my boss has also offered me a citreon ax gt as a restoration project!
am i going mad?
or should i modify my focus it just seems theres not alot you can really do with the 1.6 zetec se engine and you try finding a crashed rs for sale!

why did you buy a focus after a vtr - you can't compare the 2. i'm not a big fan of either car, but i'd still rather have the vtr than a fuckus

rust was killing the vtr and got tottally fed up off citreons downright crap build quality!
my ex was having a baby so needed a bigger car and that was the only sensible choice for my money! i can fit four adults in it and there all comfy and it copes well on motorways and is fun to drive i really cant fault it but show me an interesting road and i would love to have the saxo back as although it was a money pit it was a right riot to drive!
now answer this question you have Ł3500 to spend do you get an astra a renault megane or a focus?

none of the above, i'd buy a 2.0 ghia x mondeo mk3. all the mod cons, fuck loads of space, 150hp under your right foot and 40+ mpg.. makes sense to me

after owning the focus i do agree! but as a cheap no thrills hot hatch there okay!
the focus is in a different league quality wise and as for a mondeo too big and i find the rear seats uncomfortable!

i've never understood the 'too big' thing with cars..

did you say that to your instructor when you first learnt ? i'm only used to walking, this car is too big ? you'd soon get used to it !

How many cars have you owned?

Personally I've loved every Saxo VTR and VTS I've driven. Great little fun cars.

DON'T waste your time and money modifying the Focus. Enjoy it for the nice car that it is...

If you must modify it.... have you thought about making it LIGHTER? loosing the interior will make it go and FEEL alot faster and it costs nothing!
